Research Note(s)

"Exported to England." (Source: van der Linde, Claas. May 2, 2008.)

"In 1934 Major R. S. Grigg owned the 12mR Miquette (owned by Fairlie Restorations in 2013), built and designed by Fife that year. Grigg was chairman and founder of the Car Mart, Ltd.; Dagenham Motors, Ltd., and associated companies." (Source: van der Linde, Claas. April 8, 2013.)

"As per Construction Record 'Order [to build] issued Sept 8/31' for the entire #1206 Class (#1206s - #1211s). As per the contract in the collection of the Herreshoff Marine Museum the contract date was the '21st day of September 1934'. The Construction Record shows this date as 'Sept 28/34', the difference in dates probably due to the mailing of the contract from England to Bristol. The space for the delivery date on the contract was left blank but we can safely assume that this boat was already finished two-and-a-half years after its work order had been given and was crated and shipped on September 28, 1934 or very soon after." (Source: van der Linde, Claas. January 9, 2015.)

"Built in 1116 days (contract to delivered; equivalent to $1/day)." (Source: van der Linde, Claas. January 16, 2024.)
